Going Abroad – to UK!

OSAKO has a new Going Abroad blogger! Going Abroad blogger is an Oamk student who is in exchange and is sharing their story and experiences during their exchange. And now, let us introduce himself!

Hi! My name is Joonas Myllymäki and I’m studying construction engineering at Oamk. Originally I’m from this little town called Veteli in Central Ostrobothnia, but currently I’m living in Oulu. Next fall I’m spending in exchange in London, in Kingston University. Kingston University is located in Kingston Upon-Thames borough, approximately 20 kilometers from the London city.

I wanted to do my exchange in United Kingdom because I have always been fascinated about the British culture, and I’m also a huge football fan. The most important reason of all is that I want to improve my English skills and be fluent and relaxed while using it. I’m not quite sure yet what courses I’m taking there, since those will be confirmed when I get there. I had an opportunity to wish for some courses before I went there, and one of those courses was British Life and Culture, where you’ll deepen your knowledge about British culture, life, etc.

My aim is to experience and see as many things as possible during my exchange and get to know people from all over the world. And one thing is for sure – I want to see a Chelsea Premier League game and Champions League games in Stamford Bridge Stadium!
